Attention Parents

On January 10th we held meetings with our seniors where we reviewed some important information related to graduation. Your senior obtained the relevant documentation and a form that requires signatures from the student and parent. If your senior has not discussed this meeting with you yet, please inquire about it as soon as possible. We would appreciate it if you could sign the forms and have them returned to your student's English teacher at your earliest convenience.

Yearbook Information

Distribution Day for Yearbooks is Monday, May 6th.

Students will pick up their books in C-3. These will be given out in order by last name beginning during 2nd period.

      • If students are not able to pick up their book on Monday, they may stop by C-3 when they return to school to pick up their reserved copy.

If a student needs someone else to pick up their copy, a parent or guardian must email Mrs. Peck with the name of the student on the order and the name of the person you have authorized to pick it up. NO books will be given to those who have not placed an order unless previously authorized by the purchaser.

We have completely sold out of books this year! However, if you missed ordering yours, please email Mrs. Peck and she will place your name on the waiting list. We have several students who ordered duplicates, but they have not yet confirmed if they need both copies.

As always, thank you so much for your invaluable support throughout the year - we couldn't have done it without you!!!!

Deepfakes and Democracy

Every day, we see -- and create! -- countless images and videos that have been edited or digitally altered. From simple Snapchat filters to short, lighthearted, or ironic TikTok videos, it’s clear that seeing and creating altered media is just part of online life today. But are your students aware of -- or have they thought deeply about -- the phenomenon of deepfake videos? As you watch, have your students consider questions like: Why are faked images and videos so popular? How might AI or deepfake technology subvert or threaten a democratic election? And perhaps more universally, How does the existence of this new technology change the way we see the world?
