Rachel Starrett
Staff Spotlight
Ms. Rachel Starrett has taught Criminal Justice at Riverdale for the last three years. Ms. Starrett is a proud Riverdale alumni and prior to her teaching career, she worked in the criminal justice field as a probation and parole officer. She has served as an assistant coach for the Lady Warriors Soccer team for the last two years and also serves as the lead for the sophomore class pep rally team. Ms. Starrett recently received a master's degree in Criminal Justice Administration. Her students say that she is a great teacher and coach. She is always there to help them be successful. She is a true Riverdale Warrior who always strives to provide opportunities and hands-on experiences to her students.
Student Spotlight
Lilian gives 200% to everything she is involved with. She brings passion, creativity, determination, and a positive attitude to any team. She is a leader who leads by example, working hard and never asking for thanks or attention. She lifts others up when they need it and always looks for strengths in others. Lilian is a vital member of our Warrior Media team. She is also the Student Body Publicist, Vice-President of Thespians, a stage manager for the Theater Department, and a member of the Riverdale Honors College. Lilian is an excellent example of a true Warrior.

Community Service
If you need ideas for community service, check out TN Achieves (TN Promise) community service ideas page. These hours will count towards your TN Promise requirement and the hours may count for other school organizational requirements as well.
STARS counseling
Jackie Hills is the STARS counselor at RHS. She is on campus five days a week for student services.

SAVE THE DATE
The Riverdale Honors College will hold the induction ceremony for members admitted in May and August on October 19, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. The ceremony will be held at the James Union Building at MTSU. All current and new members are expected to attend. RSVP Here
Governor’s School
Sophomores and Juniors, now is the time to apply for Governor's School. This four-week program will be held during the summer. It's an amazing opportunity to learn more about your areas of interest, to meet students with a similar interest, and to get a feel for life on campus. It will look great on your resume, but it's also something that you'll remember for the rest of your life. And the best part is that most of the Governor's Schools are free! SMART CARDS
Rutherford County Smart Cards are available now through Riverdale's Choir Department! If you need a Smart Card, please email the choir director, Brenda Williams (williamsb@rcschools.net) and let her know. We have Rutherford County and several surrounding counties available.
Also available is the new APP for the City Saver Coupon Book. This "book" from previous years is now an app that contains all those wonderful coupons.
Both of these are available for $20.00 - cash or check.
Summer Travel opportunities
We have a trip planned for Greece in June of 2024. This trip is open to members of the Riverdale Honors College and those students that who will be rising juniors and seniors or recent graduates at the time of travel. Families are also welcome. All trips are planned through EF Tours, a reputable travel partner used by schools nationwide, including many in Rutherford County. There are still spots available. Clear Bag Policy
Clear bags are now required for all athletic events per RCS school policy.
We have RHS clear bags for sale. We have a crossbody, a tote, and a fanny pack.
You can purchase these online with SchoolCash or you can see Coach King in the Annex. Also, we will have them for sale at the football gate for each home game.
All bags are $15.00.

SENIORS! Mark Your Calendars
Eric Farmer, a Financial Aid expert from TSAC will be here to help students and their parents with the Tennessee Promise and FAFSA applications. His assistance is invaluable and you won’t want to miss this opportunity.
He will be here during the day on Wednesday, October 11 and Thursday, October 12 from 10 am - 2:30 pm for students. For parents - he will be here Wednesday, October 11 from 5 pm-7pm.
Cap and Gown Orders
Graduation cap and gown orders must be in by November 15. Please note that the gown colors are changing this year and you will not be able to use one from a previous graduation. Use the QR code below to place your orders.

Try Paper
Paper is a free tutoring service open to all Rutherford County students. The tutors at Paper provide homework help, writing support, and ACT Prep support. They also have tutors that speak multiple languages.
