Staff Spotlight
Ryan Locke is in his 4th year at Riverdale. He teaches World History and is our dean for letters N - R. He also a member of the testing committee. He is a great teacher, colleague, and mentor. According to his students, he is a very caring teacher who is relatable and makes them laugh. Mr. Locke has very clear expectations for his classes that are easy to follow. He makes his students feel seen and does everything he can to make sure there is a positive atmosphere in class. Thank you Mr. Locke for being such a good person and teacher.

Student Spotlight
Josefina is a senior at RHS. She plays soccer, does archery, and is very involved in Theatre. She has been involved in every theatre production since her freshman year here at Riverdale. This past summer she went to Governors School for theatre. She also participates in theatre outside of Riverdale. Josefina is President of the International Thespian Society for the second year in a row and is a member of the Riverdale Honors College She is an outstanding student athlete who leads by example and is always ready to work. She is described as intelligent, charismatic, and witty by her teachers. Josefina is an asset to Riverdale and she is going to be missed when she graduates.

Community Service
If you need ideas for community service, check out TN Achieves (TN Promise) community service ideas page. These hours will count towards your TN Promise requirement and the hours may count for other school organizational requirements as well.
STARS counseling
Jackie Hills is the STARS counselor at RHS. She is on campus five days a week for student services.

Governor’s School
Sophomores and Juniors, now is the time to apply for Governor's School. This four-week program will be held during the summer. It's an amazing opportunity to learn more about your areas of interest, to meet students with a similar interest, and to get a feel for life on campus. It will look great on your resume, but it's also something that you'll remember for the rest of your life. And the best part is that most of the Governor's Schools are free! Summer Travel opportunities
We have a trip planned for Greece in June of 2024. This trip is open to members of the Riverdale Honors College and those students that who will be rising juniors and seniors or recent graduates at the time of travel. Families are also welcome. All trips are planned through EF Tours, a reputable travel partner used by schools nationwide, including many in Rutherford County. There are still spots available. Clear Bag Policy
Clear bags are now required for all athletic events per RCS school policy.
We have RHS clear bags for sale. We have a crossbody, a tote, and a fanny pack.
You can purchase these online with SchoolCash or you can see Coach King in the Annex. Also, we will have them for sale at the football gate for each home game.
All bags are $15.00.

Cap and Gown Orders
Graduation cap and gown orders must be in by November 15. Please note that the gown colors are changing this year and you will not be able to use one from a previous graduation. Use the QR code below to place your orders.
If your student receives free/reduced lunch, they may be eligible for a free or reduced cost cap and gown. Please use this QR code to submit your application.

Paper is a free tutoring service open to all Rutherford County students. The tutors at Paper provide homework help, writing support, and ACT Prep support. They also have tutors that speak multiple languages.
