Staff Spotlight

Meet Mrs. Brittany Booher, a dynamic addition to the Riverdale High School team in her first year. Passionate about being a valued member of the community, Mrs. Booher exudes enthusiasm for her role as an Instruction Support Member as well. With a heart dedicated to teachers and a profound love for the art of teaching, she brings a positive attitude to work every day. Mrs. Booher's impact is noticed throughout the halls of Riverdale, where her commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment is truly making a difference. Mrs. Booher is undeniably an asset to Riverdale High School and a source of inspiration for both colleagues and students alike.

Student Spotlight

Kaitlyn is an excellent scholar and leader for the Riverdale High School Community. Kaitlyn participates in honors and dual enrollment courses and maintains high scholastic achievement. Furthermore, Kaitlyn attended the Tennessee Governor's School for the Agricultural Sciences this past summer and received college credit for her time at UT Martin. Kaitlyn is the Riverdale FFA President and a member of our Goat Show team here at Riverdale. Kaitlyn is also a member of the Riverdale Honors College. She is a kind young lady that always makes our FFA members feel welcome. We are lucky to have Kaitlyn as a Warrior!

Governor’s School

Governor's School applications are live. These (mostly) free summer programs take place at a variety of campuses throughout the state. Programs are competitive and often require resumes, letters or recommendation, and even auditions in order to participate. There are a variety of programs to fit your interests and future majors.

Applications for GS for the Arts need to be completed and turned into Mr. Truax before November 18th. All other applications will need to be submitted before December 9th. You can reach him at truaxj@rcschools.net.

Graduation Cap & Gown Orders

The deadline is 11/15. See the Senior Information page below for ordering information.

On Tuesday, Nov 28th FCCLA will be taking a service field trip to the Tennessee Veterans home here in Murfreesoboro. On their trip they will be making DYI wreaths with the residents. Also, at a meeting beforehand they will be making a fleece blanket for all the residents. If your child is in FCCLA please send their permission slip back signed along with $5. We will also be going to Cracker Barrel. Please send money with your child that day to eat. The meal will cost approximately $15 - $20 per person. Thank you

Summer Travel opportunities

Passport

We have a trip planned for Greece in June of 2024. This trip is open to members of the Riverdale Honors College and those students that who will be rising juniors and seniors or recent graduates at the time of travel. Families are also welcome. All trips are planned through EF Tours, a reputable travel partner used by schools nationwide, including many in Rutherford County. There are still spots available. Clear Bag Policy

Clear bags are now required for all athletic events per RCS school policy.


We have RHS clear bags for sale. We have a crossbody, a tote, and a fanny pack.


You can purchase these online with SchoolCash or you can see Coach King in the Annex. Also, we will have them for sale at the football gate for each home game.


All bags are $15.00.

Riverdale Honors College students visit MTSU for STEM Day

Warrior News

Several students from Mrs. Peck's Service Learning class organized a booth and volunteered their Saturday to help Habitat for Humanity and their annual Cooking to Build fundraiser. These students organized the materials needed and collected donations of over 500 cookies and donuts to hand out to patrons at the event.

FFA National Convention

Casen Rooker and Dylin Shaffer received 4th in the nation and a golding rating in the National FFA Agriscience Fair: Power and Technical Systems Division 6. The results were announced Friday during the 6th General Session of the 96th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana.


The duo also participated in the National FFA Student Spotlight where they presented their project to convention attendees and answered question from industry leaders. If you see them join us in congratulating these members on this outstanding achievement.


Last spring the Riverdale FFA Floriculture Team became state champions and earned the right to represent Tennessee in the National FFA Floriculture Career Development Event. Last week during the 96th National FFA Convention and Expo, team members competed in a 9 hours long event that consisted of tests, identification, making individual floral arrangements, and a challenging team activity in which members had to make 4 wearable floral arrangements and set up a booth for a floral shop at a trade show all in one hour.


During the awards presentation, the team was awarded a Bronze Rating from National FFA. We congratulate these members on their outstanding performance and hard work.

Ouiz Bowl Teams Learn Placings In National Contest

Eight students from the Riverdale FFA Chapter, competed in the National FFA Invitational Quiz Bowl hosted by Tarleton State University, Tuesday during the 96th National FFA Convention and Expo. During the event members complete a strenuous test that consisted of question that tested their knowledge of the traditions, history, standards, and achievements of the National FFA Organization.


Two teams were formed for the event with one team placing 13th and the other placing 34th in the nation.

Graduation cap and gown orders must be in by November 15. Please note that the gown colors are changing this year and you will not be able to use one from a previous graduation. Use the QR code below to place your orders.


If your student receives free/reduced lunch, they may be eligible for a free or reduced cost cap and gown. Please use this QR code to submit your application.

Senior Information

The date for graduation is Friday May 17, at 7:00 p.m. Graduation will be held at MTSU’s Murphy Center. Practice will be Friday morning from 8-11. Attendance at practice is mandatory

Paper is a free tutoring service open to all Rutherford County students. The tutors at Paper provide homework help, writing support, and ACT Prep support. They also have tutors that speak multiple languages.
