Katharine Curtis
Staff Spotlight
Ms. Curtis has been teaching math at Riverdale for two years and has already made a lasting impact. She prioritizes building positive relationships with her students and is committed to creating a positive learning environment to ensure their success. Her colleagues praise her work ethic, passion for teaching, and exceptional leadership skills in the Algebra III PLC team. With a genuine concern for her students, she continually motivates them to achieve their full potential. Ms. Curtis is a wonderful role model and a great example of the true Warrior spirit.
Student Spotlight
Elexis is an active member of the Riverdale Choir, and over the course of her first three years of high school, she has showcased her vocal talent by performing with the Freshman Honor Choir, All-County Honor Choir, Mid-State Honor Choir, and Allstate Honor Choir. Elexis' achievements extend beyond her performances in various choirs as she has had the privilege of gracing prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia. Alongside her passion for performing, Elexis has demonstrated strong leadership capabilities, consistently exhibiting an unwavering commitment to her endeavors. Her dedication and tenacity bode well for a bright future ahead.

We have opened a free store for our students that are in need. We have items such as toiletries, feminine products, toothpaste, school supplies, backpacks, and snacks available. If you would like to make a donation to our
"Hotel-Motel" store, you can bring these items to the front office between 7:45 and 4:00. Thank you.

Community Service
If you need ideas for community service, check out TN Achieves (TN Promise) community service ideas page. These hours will count towards your TN Promise requirement and the hours may count for other school organizational requirements as well.
STARS counseling
Jackie Hills is the STARS counselor at RHS. She is on campus five days a week for student services.

Governor’s School
Governor's School applications are live. These (mostly) free summer programs take place at a variety of campuses throughout the state. Programs are competitive and often require resumes, letters or recommendation, and even auditions in order to participate. There are a variety of programs to fit your interests and future majors.

Warrior News
Tahmar Upshaw, a Class of 2022 Riverdale High School graduate, represented Team USA in the November 2023 Parapan American Games in Santiago, Chile. Tahmar competed in the 400-meter and 1500-meter running events and achieved a 2nd-place silver medal in both events.
Tahmar currently attends Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN on a track and field scholarship. He is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science. For future updates on Tahmar Upshaw’s journey please follow him at @tahmar04 on Instagram.

Senior Information
The date for graduation is Friday May 17, at 7:00 p.m. Graduation will be held at MTSU’s Murphy Center. Practice will be Friday morning from 8-11. Attendance at practice is mandatory.

Try Paper
Paper is a free tutoring service open to all Rutherford County students. The tutors at Paper provide homework help, writing support, and ACT Prep support. They also have tutors that speak multiple languages.
