Warrior News

The FCCLA club, with the help of the students and staff from Riverdale, collected a whopping 347.456 oz (21.7 lbs) of pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House!

FCCLA advisors and club members are thankful to receive a $325 grant for a service project for Veterans from the Nashville Area Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (NAAFCS). The grant was used to buy materials to make blankets, DIY wreaths, and a craft for residents at the Tennessee Veterans Home in Murfreesboro, TN. Club members stayed several days after school and made 10 tied-fleece blankets. Then on November 28th, the FCCLA club took a field trip to Cracker Barrel and then to the Tennessee Veterans Home to deliver the blankets. They also spend time with the residents making wreaths and snow globes. The students enjoyed this very much. They were especially happy knowing they had a part in bringing a little more Joy to these Veterans and making them smile during this holiday season.
